For Veterinarians

In order to practise veterinary medicine in BC/provide veterinary services (including via telemedicine) to the people and animals of British Columbia, you must be a registrant of the College of Veterinarians of BC.

Unauthorized Practice of Veterinary Medicine:

Any person providing veterinary services, offering to provide veterinary services, or holding themselves out to be authorized to provide veterinary services in BC who is NOT a veterinarian and registered to practice with the CVBC is engaging in the unauthorized practice of veterinary medicine.

Verifying a Veterinarian’s Registration Status

The College of Veterinarians of British Columbia’s Online Registry can be used to find a veterinarian by name or board-certified specialty (if applicable) in order to verify their registration status with the CVBC and to see any limitations that have been imposed on their license.

The Online Registry is also a resource to find a veterinary practice facility by name or location, and to verify the practice facility’s accreditation status and to see any limitations imposed on the facility’s services.
