2025-2026 Election of Council Members

Nominations are now open for two registrant seats on the Council of the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia for three-year terms effective March 2026.

Eligibility to serve on Council is governed by Bylaws section 1.4.

 

The election schedule, pursuant to Bylaws – Part 1

  • Nomination deadline: November 17, 2025 at 12 pm (noon)
  • Slate of candidates declared by November 24, 2025
  • Voter materials and instructions provided to registrants eligible to vote by December 8, 2025
  • Voting deadline: February 9, 2026
  • Election outcome announced by February 16, 2026

 

Pursuant to section 1.10 (1) (d) of the Bylaws, a nomination to stand for election must be supported by two registrants who are eligible to vote at meetings of registrants. Nominations must be made in the prescribed form. Nomination Forms must be submitted to cvbc@cvbc.ca and must be received by no later than 12:00 pm (noon) on Monday, November 17, 2025

 

The nominations will be reviewed for eligibility by the Nominations Committee, which will confirm a slate of candidates by Monday, November 24, 2025. The Nominations Committee is comprised of three registrants: Dr. Dalwinder Toor, Dr. Josh Waddington, and Dr. Devon Wilson.

 

All candidates will have the opportunity to provide biographical information and a statement to accompany the election materials that will be circulated to all registrants eligible to vote in the election. The Candidate Biography Form can be submitted along with the Nominations Form or emailed separately to cvbc@cvbc.ca by no later than December 2, 2025.

 

These documents provide important information on what to expect as a Council member and what is expected of a Council member:

 

Elected Council members are required to sign the Confidentiality Agreement and the Council Member Code of Conduct; take an Oath of Office; and be available to attend the first Council meeting following the election, to be held on March 20, 2026.
