Please note that the new Veterinarians Act, SBC 2010 c. 15, fully in force as of September 15, 2010, sets out a new set of rules for disclosure of disciplinary matters. The CVBC will focus on taking steps to comply with these new requirements over the months following the in force date.
The new rules require disclosure of most disciplinary matters including interim suspensions and restrictions, from September 15, 2005 on.
NOTICE OF PENDING HEARINGS
BCVMA Policy requires that notice of pending inquiry hearings be posted on the BCVMA website, at the discretion of the BCVMA these may be in anonymous form.
HOWEVER, the BCVMA since September 2005 has suspended such notice, pending the outcome of a court challenge. In the interim there has been no public access to the pending hearings list.
NOTICE OF INQUIRY HEARING DECISIONS
BCVMA Policy requires that notice of the outcome of inquiry hearings that result in suspension, restriction on the right to practice or revocation of registration/license, be posted on the BCVMA website as soon as practicable.
Please see the BCVMA Policy on Confidentiality and Disclosure of Regulatory Matters, on this website under Law & Policy, for more information.
DISCIPLINE ARCHIVE
Please note that 6 months after a matter has reached completion, the related information may be moved to the 'Archive' area of the BCVMA website.
