Nontherapeutic (cosmetic) Surgery Bylaw
Invitation for Public Input - deadline Fri Nov. 5, 2010
Nontherapeutic (cosmetic) Surgery Bylaw
The Council of the CVBC has committed to develop a bylaw for consideration by the Registrants of the College, that prohibits tail docking and ear cropping for nontherapeutic and purely cosmetic purposes.
The Council recognizes the importance of this initiative to the people and animals of BC. The CVBC invites input in writing from the public and the profession on this very important topic.
This matter will be a topic of discussion only at the CBVC Annual General Meeting on October 2, 2010. No vote will be taken at the AGM.
The CVBC will make further decisions and take further steps on this matter only after the public and profession have had a further opportunity for input and after careful consideration of that input.
We want to hear from all interested parties and welcome your contribution to this dialogue.
Please direct your submission to the attention of the Deputy Registrar at the CVBC office.
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2010.
